Dear Sunnybrook Community,

At Sunnybrook School District 171, we remain firmly committed to providing a nurturing environment that upholds the values of respect, compassion, and humanity. Our administrators, educators, and Board of Education are united in their dedication to modeling and instilling these core principles in our students.

Recently, a video has circulated at both the national and local levels featuring an individual identified as a teacher who works at a school named Nathan Hale Elementary. The behavior displayed in the video has raised understandable concern.    

We want to clearly state that the individual in the video does not, and has never, been employed by Sunnybrook School District 171.

As an educational institution, we remain steadfast in our mission to cultivate an environment where kindness, respect, and empathy are not only taught but consistently demonstrated.
